Early Sculpting
1/6/98
The first day of sculpting was 1/6/98. All 18 teams start at the
same time.
Using only hand tools, snow, ice and water, the artists will
sculpt until the 1:00PM deadline on January 10th, 1998.
Some of the 35,000 spectators who monitored the sculptors'
progress. Towards the end of the competition, work continued all
through the night, aided by powerful night lights.
